SAN FRANCISCO — Foster Farms has issued a recall for nearly 3.9 million pounds of corn dogs after reports of five injuries linked to ‘pieces of wood’ in the batter, as per a health alert released on Saturday. This recall follows similar alerts issued by other brands the previous week.

The recall affects poultry corn dog products manufactured between July 30, 2024, and August 4, 2025. Customers can identify the recalled items by checking for the “establishment number” P-6137B on the packaging.

These corn dogs were distributed to retail and institutional locations across the nation, including Department of Defense and USDA Commodity Foods donation sites, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service.

Many of the products have not yet passed their “use by” date. 

This alert comes a week after Hillshire Brands Company recalled nearly 60 million pounds of corn dog products made between March 17 and Sept. 26. 

An investigation into multiple reports of injuries found the corn dog batter had been “contaminated” with pieces of wood, according to the alert. 

Consumers are advised that these products might still be in their freezers or refrigerators. They should not be consumed but rather discarded or returned to the point of purchase.
