Car crash at airport in the Philippines kills at least 2, including young girl

A vehicle collided with the entrance of Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in Manila, Philippines, on Sunday, resulting in two fatalities and multiple injuries, as reported by authorities.

The victims of the crash, which involved a black SUV, included a man and a young girl. Four others were also injured. The Philippine Red Cross, present at the scene, noted the girl was four years old; however, Secretary of Transportation Vivencio Hizon stated she was five years old.

According to NAIA, the incident occurred on Sunday when the car smashed through the airport’s external barrier and into the pedestrian area near Terminal 1’s entrance.

Dozens of emergency personnel were seen at the airport surrounding the vehicle, which was later removed from the scene.

The airport operator said it is working with the authorities to investigate the incident.
