Aisha Dee reveals all about her Hulu series 'Watching You'

“Watching You” unfolds the tale of Lina, portrayed by Aisha Dee, an Australian paramedic who finds herself in a complicated situation despite her seemingly perfect engagement. Known for sometimes making dubious decisions, Lina’s life takes a turn after an unexpected encounter.

During a gathering hosted by her friends, Lina becomes involved with a man named Dan, leading to a one-night affair. The story takes a darker twist when this intimate moment is secretly recorded and sent to Lina. As she embarks on a mission to uncover the culprit, Lina, along with her friends and fiancé, becomes entangled in a web of peril.

“This chance meeting with a stranger sets off a domino effect, unraveling her life into chaos—sexy chaos,” Dee shared with On The Red Carpet. “The narrative shifts significantly from the initial three episodes to the latter half, delving deeper and delivering unexpected impacts that resonate profoundly.”

What drew Lina to Dan, the stranger who altered her path?

“The dynamic between them is captivating, characterized by a power struggle,” Dee explained. “Both are vying for control, and Dan is the first to challenge Lina in this novel way. They reflect each other’s traumas, which adds layers to their interaction.”

The concept of Lina being observed and recorded intrigued Dee, though she admits it was somewhat unsettling.

“I think the themes of the show are so universal for people, even though it’s this kind of heightened world where someone is literally being videotaped and blackmailed with the video tape,” she said. “We’re kind of so deeply accessible at all times and that’s kind of unsettling.”

Dee said the script kept her guessing until the end and believes the audiences will be on the edge of their seats as well.

All six episodes of “Watching You” are streaming now on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Hulu and this ABC station.
