A 64-year-old man from Sacramento has been freed after being detained for his involvement in a shooting incident that hit the local ABC10 news station on Friday afternoon.

Anibal Hernandez Santana, the suspect, faced charges of assault with a deadly weapon, firing into an occupied structure, and reckless discharge of a firearm. Records from Sacramento County Jail indicate that Hernandez Santana was released on Saturday after securing a $200,000 bail.

Police responded to the television station’s building at about 1:30 p.m. Friday following reports of a shooting, according to FOX 11 LA.

There was a small protest outside the station on Thursday, according to The Sacramento Bee.

The news outlet noted that around 15 individuals were demonstrating outside the building on Thursday to protest Disney-owned ABC’s decision to remove Jimmy Kimmel from the air after he made remarks about conservative activist Charlie Kirk, who was killed, and his purported killer.

Despite Disney’s ownership of the ABC network, ABC10 is an affiliate owned by Tegna, which is currently in the process of being acquired by Nexstar Media Group for $6.2 billion, as per Nexstar’s statement.
