Lipstick, Meet Pig: AOC Touts New Trash Cans on NY's Notorious 'Market of Sweethearts'

AOC Highlights New Trash Bins on NYC's Infamous 'Retail of Romance'

There’s being out of touch, and then there’s being completely oblivious. Below that, you’ll find New York’s own, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), or AOC.

In her latest bewildering move, AOC proudly announced her role in getting new trash cans installed along Roosevelt Avenue, also known as the “Avenue of Sweethearts,” in Queens. This area is notorious for being a hub of illicit activities like prostitution, drugs, and gangs. While the trash cans have been placed, the actual issues persist.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez took to social media to share her accomplishment in having numerous trash cans added to Roosevelt Avenue in Queens.

Problem is, she ignored the real trash.

She was immediately mocked for ignoring the parade of johns, pimps and prostitutes flooding the avenue’s infamous “Market of Sweethearts.”

“Celebrating the addition of garbage cans is akin to sprinkling on a pile of waste and calling it a celebration,” criticized Elmhurst’s Ramses Frias, a Republican contender for City Council in Queens’ 25th District. “It’s just for appearances.”

“Of course, AOC won’t speak about what’s really happening here so she can keep up the facade that her district is amazing and a paradise.”

Keeping track of AOC’s antics poses a real risk of finding oneself shaking their head in disbelief so frequently that it might sound like applause at a concert hall. Her grasp of optics is non-existent. Even though this type of local enforcement isn’t typically a congressional duty, a congressperson still has influential power within their community.

Residents of Queens are desperately seeking solutions for their issues, as all they’re receiving from their Congresswoman are empty trash bins.

Queens residents, merchants and civic leaders have repeatedly blasted AOC for being missing in action in the fight to clean up the red-light district.

Locals along the Roosevelt Avenue corridor have begged for help with the plagues of prostitution and illegal street vendors — fueled in part by gangs who got a foothold in the area due to the city’s migrant crisis.

They even recently urged the FBI to look into the Market of Sweethearts’ alleged links to organized crime.

Now this is a district that could profit from some ICE agents and a company or two of National Guard troops.

While her constituents are struggling with rampant crime, AOC is attending Met galas (for which she’s taking some ethical heat) and going on the modern version of a whistle-stop campaign with the daffy old Bolshevik from Vermont, Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), to promote socialism. What a joke.

AOC’s inattention to her district has been ongoing:
