Police in Utah are seeking the public’s assistance in finding a 15-year-old girl who has been missing from South Jordan since April 21.
Authorities in Utah and Texas are actively searching for Alisa Petrov. On Thursday, the Texas City police joined the effort once South Jordan police received an online alert from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC).
Parents Nikolai and Olga Petrov said they feared someone could have lured her or her away or that she could have been trafficked.
“That’s what we are suspecting at the moment,” Olga Petrov told KSL TV. “We have no confirmation, but concerns.”
Alisa was last observed entering a school in American Fork, near the intersection of 655 South and 500 East. However, she did not attend her classes and was later reportedly seen at a nearby gas station, where she informed other teenagers about her desire to run away.
“She entered the building, she didn’t make it to the classroom,” Olga Petrov said. “The teachers said she never saw her that day.”
Alisa then asked someone for a ride to the UTA FrontRunner station at 6786 W. 7750 North, then boarded the train to Provo.
“She asked a girl to get her a ticket in exchange of cash for the bus to Las Vegas,” Olga Petrov said.
According to MSN, Alisa’s family is offering a $20,000 reward to anyone who provides verified information leading directly to Alisa’s safe return.
Anyone with information is urged to contact 911.
