In San Bernardino on Tuesday, a dramatic rescue unfolded when a driver was swept away by floodwaters after desperately clinging to the top of a truck.
The individual had taken refuge on the vehicle’s roof in the Devore area as intense rainfall battered Southern California late into the night.

Rescue teams arrived on the scene shortly before 11:30 p.m. but could only watch as the victim was carried off by the powerful currents.
After a two-hour search hindered by harsh conditions, crews were forced to pause their efforts, planning to resume at first light.
As of Wednesday morning, the individual was still unaccounted for.
