Investigators believe more victims exist after Palatka man arrested for child sexual assault

A 37-year-old man named Corzelle White has been taken into custody, accused of sexually abusing a child over several years. Authorities suspect he may have targeted other victims as well.

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — In a disturbing case out of Palatka, Corzelle White faces serious charges after allegedly grooming and sexually abusing a child over an extended period. Officials with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office believe there may be more victims affected by his actions.

On Wednesday evening, White was apprehended and charged with several offenses, including sexual assault by a caretaker on a child aged 12 or older, as well as possession of child pornography.

The Sheriff’s Office reported that the victim revealed the abuse spanned three years, during which the suspect allegedly took photos and videos of the incidents. These images were discovered during a forensic analysis of White’s mobile phone.

“The ordeal this victim has endured is beyond words,” commented Sheriff H.D. Gator DeLoach. “This individual, who was supposed to be a trusted figure, manipulated the child into believing such behavior was normal. White’s conduct is utterly despicable.”

Currently, White remains in the Putnam County Jail without the option for bond. If he is found guilty of the sexual battery charges, he could potentially face a life sentence.

During interviews, the sheriff’s office said investigators were made aware of three other potential victims allegedly mentioned by White.

“We have credible reason to believe there are more victims and we need parents and guardians to come forward so we can ensure these kids get the help they need as well as make sure this predator is held accountable for the lives he has tried to ruin,” said Sheriff DeLoach.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s office at 386-329-0800 and ask to speak with Detective Gogan.
