Bad Bunny shuts down Palo Alto eatery for post-super bowl celebration

The post-Super Bowl festivities for global music sensation Bad Bunny took a surprising turn as he opted for an intimate celebration far from the bustling energy of Levi’s Stadium.

The renowned Puerto Rican artist, born Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, chose to host a private gathering at the Spanish restaurant Macarena Palo Alto on Sunday evening. Accompanied by about 50 close friends and family members, the singer created an exclusive atmosphere at the venue.

In a move that kept everyone on their toes, Bad Bunny had initially reserved the spot under the guise of a “mystery celebrity,” leaving the restaurant staff pleasantly stunned upon his arrival. The secrecy surrounding the event was so strict that management implemented a no-phone policy for employees, revealing the identity of their distinguished guest only a week later.

To keep the “King of Latin Trap” from being swarmed, the restaurant enacted a strict no phone policy for staff, who were only told the A-lister would be dining there 15 minutes before his arrival.

Benito and his crew ate a special “Benito edition” menu, which included croquettes with Iberico ham, oxtail canelones, tuna tartare, paella, Dungeness crab and potato salad and heirloom tomato salad.

“He was very humble,” Linares told NBC Bay Area. “We were shocked – he was so, so normal. You couldn’t tell he was a superstar.”

Before heading out, Linares said Benito took the time to shake the hands of all the staff working at the restaurant that night.

“At that moment, he was the most important person in the world,” Linares told Telemundo. The restaurant opened in February 2025 and is coming up on its one-year anniversary.
