BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — A Birmingham man was arrested following a robbery and shooting Tuesday at an apartment complex, according to the Birmingham Police Department.
Birmingham police officers arrived to an apartment around 4:20 p.m. in the 2900 block of 12th Avenue North. Officers were conducting an investigation regarding a man who was robbed and shot by someone he knew. The victim suffered not life-threatening injuries.
Officers started a follow-up investigation. They learned the suspect may have been barricaded inside his apartment. Birmingham police stated they safely resolved the situation.
Officers obtained a warrant for Tarrence Jennings, 30, for domestic violence stemming from an unrelated incident. He was transported to the Birmingham City Jail.
Jennings was booked for his domestic violence warrant and placed on a 48-hour felony extension for robbery and felony assault.
