It seems someone made a rather unfortunate choice.
A brazen thief has reportedly stolen an expensive motorized wheelchair from a New York City building, casually settling into the seat and executing a slow escape, as shocking surveillance footage reveals.
The NYPD is actively searching for the audacious suspect, who is accused of entering an apartment complex at 888 Grand Concourse in the Bronx at approximately 2:11 a.m. on April 21. The stolen wheelchair, valued at $5,000, was parked near the lobby when the incident occurred.

Surveillance cameras caught the suspect, donning black pants, a blue sweatshirt, a black vest, a black backpack, and a blue and white winter hat, as he entered the premises and maneuvered the high-tech chair out from beneath a staircase.
He then took a seat and drove the wheelchair towards the lobby, as depicted in the video.
The police are now appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the alleged culprit who made off with the power chair.
Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at on X @NYPDTips.
