In Tucson, a flurry of police activity overnight led to the detention of at least three individuals in relation to the disappearance of Nancy Guthrie. However, authorities have yet to make any formal arrests.

According to News Nation, a man and a woman were questioned at a residence in Pima County during a SWAT team operation, which was conducted under the authority of a search warrant.

Meanwhile, a third individual was detained during a traffic stop in a restaurant parking lot, situated roughly two miles from Guthrie’s home. Fox News Digital reports that the male driver was stopped in connection with the search warrant executed at the residence.

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department announced on social media early Saturday morning that the law enforcement activities were linked to the Guthrie case. However, they noted that the FBI requested them to withhold further details.

Sheriff Chris Nanos informed local CBS affiliate KOLD 13 that none of the detained individuals were arrested.

The reasons that led authorities to these individuals remain unspecified. Sheriff Nanos explained that the police action stemmed from following a lead, which resulted in obtaining a search warrant but did not culminate in any arrests.

Guthrie, the 84-year-old mother of “Today” show host Savannah Guthrie, was reported missing from her southern Arizona home on Feb. 1.

Video retrieved from her doorbell camera shows an armed man of average size wearing a mask and gloves outside her front door around the time she’s believed to have disappeared.

Authorities said the missing woman has limited mobility and a heart condition, but is of sound mind and wouldn’t have left her home on her own.

Ransom notes for her return have been sent to select media outlets. The authenticity of those messages isn’t known, though police have said they’re being taken very seriously.

This is a developing story.
