MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – Renee Nicole Good, a mother of three and an immigration activist from Minneapolis, was tragically shot and killed by a federal agent after reportedly steering her car towards him. Good was known for her involvement with “ICE Watch,” a group that federal sources identified to Fox News as opposing federal immigration enforcement efforts.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, was described by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as a case of “self-defense” due to Good’s alleged actions with her vehicle.

According to Homeland Security sources, “ICE Watch” is a network of activists dedicated to observing, tracking, and resisting federal immigration operations, particularly in sanctuary cities across the United States.

While the group refers to themselves as “legal observers,” sources have indicated that they sometimes engage in activities that disrupt federal proceedings.

“She was a warrior. She died doing what was right,” said Leesa, a fellow parent at Good’s children’s school, in an interview with the New York Post.

“She was a warrior. She died doing what was right,” a mother named Leesa, whose child attends the same school as Good’s, told the New York Post.

“I know she was doing the right thing. I watched the video plenty of times but I also know in my heart the woman she was, she was doing everything right.”

According to DHS, Good followed federal ice agents to two other locations prior to the shooting and was blocking the roadway to interfere with ongoing enforcement in the area.

Federal authorities are looking into these groups to determine their sources of training and funding.

Video circulating online shows an ICE officer approaching Good’s stopped SUV and attempting to open the driver’s side door before the vehicle drives forward. A second agent standing in front of the vehicle then fires multiple shots at close range.

ICE Watch-style networks have been linked to multiple confrontations with federal agents throughout the country, including incidents involving individuals using vehicles to block or strike officers.
