A shocking assault left a 68-year-old man with a broken jaw after an unprovoked attack near the Barclays Center, according to police reports and sources on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 12:05 a.m. on March 31, when the senior was walking near the intersection of Flatbush and Atlantic avenues. A stranger initiated a verbal altercation that swiftly escalated into violence, authorities reported.

As the victim attempted to leave the situation, the assailant pursued him and delivered a punch to his face, causing the elderly man to collapse onto the pavement.
The injured man was promptly transported to a nearby hospital, where he was treated for multiple fractures and lacerations. He remains in stable condition, officials confirmed.

The attacker fled the scene immediately after the assault and remains at large.
In an effort to identify and apprehend the suspect, police have released surveillance footage of the individual.
