A man alleged to be a major drug kingpin, with a staggering $10 million price on his head, has been apprehended in San Diego, authorities confirmed.

“Cartel leaders don’t dictate the conclusions of their stories—we do,” stated U.S. Attorney Adam Gordon in a press release. “Today marks the final chapter for a man accused of being one of the world’s most notorious and prolific cocaine traffickers, right here in the Southern District of California.”

The suspect, 61-year-old Eugenio Dario Molina-Lopez, also known as “Don Adario,” faces federal charges linked to cocaine distribution. According to NBC4, he was indicted in 2019 for allegedly leading Los Huistas, a group operating along the Guatemala-Mexico border.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office describes Los Huistas as a drug trafficking organization deeply rooted in the Huehuetenango region of northwest Guatemala, a strategic area that borders Mexico and facilitates significant cocaine trafficking.

Molina-Lopez has pleaded not guilty to charges of conspiracy to distribute cocaine for illegal importation and conspiracy to distribute cocaine aboard a vessel, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
