California Rep. Eric Swalwell slams sexual misconduct, rape allegations against him — as he apologizes to wife in new video

On Friday evening, Rep. Eric Swalwell vehemently refuted allegations of sexual misconduct and rape that have been directed at him. He described these claims as “completely untrue” and extended an apology to his wife.

In a video shared on social media, the Democratic hopeful for California’s governorship stated, “The accusations of sexual assault are utterly unfounded. They are entirely false. Such incidents never occurred, and I am prepared to contest these accusations with all my resources.”

Swalwell found himself addressing serious allegations from this week, including claims by four women, one of whom is a former staff member alleging he raped her in 2024.

“However, these are personal matters between me and my wife, and I sincerely apologize to her for the predicament she now faces,” he conveyed.
