The Camden County Sheriff’s Office says they arrested a school board janitor for aggravated child molestation.

CAMDEN COUNTY, Ga. — The Camden County Sheriff’s Office has detained a janitor employed by the Camden County School System Board of Education on charges of aggravated child molestation, as stated in a press announcement.

The incident leading to the arrest occurred prior to Mason Guarino’s employment with the school board. The Camden County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the victim was not a student at the time of the incident.

The arrest followed insights gained from a forensic interview by the Department of Family and Children Services (DFCS). Investigators determined there was probable cause to apprehend Guarino for the “coercive sodomy of a 15-year-old minor.”

Guarino was arrested by CCSO, and no other information will be released to protect the victim and preserve the investigation.

“Our utmost priority is the safety and well-being of children. We collaborate closely with the Camden County School System to provide a secure environment for all students, and when such allegations surface, we respond promptly and decisively. Our children merit nothing less,” stated Sheriff Kevin Chaney.

First Coast News has requested a mugshot for Guarino.
