LOS ANGELES — Pixar has released new “bloopers” from its upcoming animated film “Elio.”
In one clip, Helix, the ambassador of the planet Falluvinum, starts his dialogue when suddenly a light fixture falls in front of him. He stops, surprised, and lets out a nervous chuckle. “Should we take a break?” he asks someone off-screen.
In a different outtake, Lord Grigon (voiced by Brad Garrett), ruler of Hylurg, gets tangled up in his words as he tries to speak. He trips over his speech, laughs loudly, and falls to the ground. Elio, voiced by Yonas Kibreab, enters the scene, shaking his head with a smile.
Another clip shows Questa, voiced by Jameela Jamil, questioning her performance as soon as “Cut” is announced. “Can I hear that… am I doing it correctly? Is my voice right? OK, just making sure.” A voice off-screen jokes, “You sound like Siri.” Questa brightens up. “I would love to be Siri,” she says, then mimics the well-known voice: “Hello and welcome.”
If these outtakes are any clue, “Elio” is set to bring both heart and hilarity across the galaxy.
“Elio” opens in theaters June 20.
