Two police officers suffered injuries, with one in critical condition, following a shooting incident at Chicago’s Swedish Hospital, according to a report from FOX 32 Chicago.
Hospital representatives confirmed the occurrence of the shooting to Fox News Digital, stating that the incident took place around 11:00 a.m. at Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital. “The campus is currently closed while law enforcement conducts their investigation,” the spokesperson detailed. “We do not have any indications of an ongoing threat within the hospital premises, and patients and staff at Swedish Hospital remain safe.”
Authorities have taken a suspect into custody, as communicated by Chicago Alderman Andre Vasquez’s office to FOX 32.
According to WGN-TV, the shooting occurred during the process of transporting a prisoner to or from the hospital. The exact circumstances remain under investigation.
