CHICAGO (WLS) — A warning has been issued by Chicago police following a wave of 10 burglaries targeting businesses in various neighborhoods throughout the city this month.
The affected areas include Avondale, Edison Park, Norwood Park, Near West Side, South Loop, Near South Side, Loop, West Loop, West Ridge, and Lakeview. Notably, some of these break-ins occurred within minutes of each other.

Authorities report that in each case, a group of two to four individuals used a pry tool or crowbar to force entry through the glass doors of the businesses.
Once inside, the suspects quickly searched the premises and seized valuables.
In a particularly alarming incident on Saturday morning, the criminals brandished a firearm at an Edison Park deli owner who interrupted their burglary attempt, according to the owner’s wife and police.
Typically, the suspects have been seen using a stolen gray or silver Infiniti four-door sedan as their getaway vehicle.
The burglaries happened at the following times and locations:
- 3300-block of N. Broadway on Nov. 5 at 3:20 a.m.
- 7100-block of N. Ridge Blvd. on Nov. 5 at 3:32 a.m.
- 600-block of W. Washington Blvd. on Nov. 5 at 4:30 a.m.
- 400-block of S. Wells St. on Nov. 5 at 5 a.m.
- 1900-block of S. State St. on Nov. 7 at 4:58 a.m.
- 2000-block of S. Clark St. on Nov. 7, at 5:04 a.m.
- 500-W. Harrison St. on Nov. 7 at 5:40 a.m.
- 6100-block of N. Milwaukee Ave. on Nov. 15 at 5:04 a.m.
- 6700-block of N. Northwest Hwy. on Nov. 15 at 5:21 a.m.
- 3400-block of N. Elston Ave. on Nov. 15 at 6:30 a.m.
The suspects are described are two men between between 20 and 30 years old who wear dark-colored hooded sweatshirts, sweatpants and ski masks.
