The law firm Stinar Gould Grieco & Hensley is representing the victim in the case. After the verdict was delivered last month, they released a statement expressing that the conviction of former Chicago Public Schools Dean, Brian Crowder, marks an important step towards justice. This is not just for their courageous client who testified, but also for all young women affected by manipulation and abuse within the district.

They praised their client’s bravery and composure as she stood up in court to speak about the grooming, exploitation, and sexual abuse she suffered starting at age 15. Her testimony, along with that of seven other survivors represented by the firm who faced similar abuse by staff at Little Village Lawndale High School, have broken the silence that allowed such abuse to continue unchecked for too long.

The statement extended gratitude to the prosecutors and their firm, acknowledging their relentless and diligent efforts to take the case to trial. Their professionalism was key in securing justice and ensuring that the survivor’s testimony was acknowledged and believed.

They also praised the jury for recognizing the truth and holding Mr. Crowder accountable. The case, however, extends beyond one individual, highlighting significant issues of systemic failure and grooming within the Chicago Public School system. For these reasons, they continue to engage in civil litigation to seek justice for all involved survivors.

The firm remains dedicated to amplifying the voices of all survivors and pushing for substantial changes that will protect students from experiencing such betrayals in the future.
