But those storms are not expected to hinder the building heat and humidity.

The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Boone, Cook, DeKalb, Will, Grundy, Kane, Kankakee, Kendall, LaSalle, Lake (IL), Livingston, McHenry, Ogle, Winnebago, Newton, Jasper, Lake (IN), and Porter counties, effective from noon until 8 p.m. on Monday.

Peak heat indices are forecast to be in the 100-110 degree range, especially on Monday, the NWS said.

AccuWeather Meteorologist Greg Dutra said temperatures in parts of the area will exceed 105 degrees on Monday afternoon.

Tuesday is expected to remain hot and humid before rain chances increase again on Wednesday as a cold front approaches the area.
