CHICAGO (WLS) — There’s a place you can shop that’s cash-free because compassion is the currency.

Mrs. Meyer’s Compassion Store is set to open in Chicago on June 13 and 14. Within this special pop-up shop, visitors can engage in concrete acts of kindness in return for practical items designed to foster compassion, such as plants, bouquets, and the exclusive Mrs. Meyer’s Compassion Flower Hand Soap.

This initiative is a segment of Mrs. Meyer’s “Lots of Compassion” program, which originated in Chicago’s Woodlawn area. The nationwide effort aims to empower neighborhoods by transforming empty lots into thriving gardens. Now entering its third year, “Lots of Compassion” has positively affected multiple communities, promoting better health and well-being. Discover how you can nurture compassion and help your community flourish by visiting MrsMeyers.com/compassion.

For each Compassion Flower product sold on MrsMeyers.com, in Walmart stores, and on Walmart.com, $1 will be donated (up to $200,000 per year) to support community gardening projects across the country. As part of a five-year pledge, Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day has committed up to $1 million to this cause by 2027.

Until June 16, you can apply or nominate a community organization to receive grants to transform vacant lots in your neighborhood into a community garden at Mrsmeyers.com/compassion.
