Chicago crime: Chicago police release image of suspect after 2 killed in Chatham shooting on Calumet Avenue

In a significant development, Chicago police have unveiled an image of a suspect linked to the fatal shooting of two men in the Chatham neighborhood, an incident that occurred last month. This release comes as authorities intensify efforts to solve the tragic case and bring justice to the victims’ families.

The shooting unfolded late in the evening on March 24, precisely at 11:21 p.m., along the 7800 block of South Calumet Avenue. According to police reports, two men were outside when they were confronted by a group of five male suspects. The confrontation led to gunfire, resulting in the deaths of the two men. Details on how many suspects were armed or fired shots remain unclear at this time.

One of the victims, a 37-year-old man, was shot in the chest and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The second victim, a 44-year-old man, suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to the University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

Following the shooting, the suspects fled the scene on foot, making their way toward 79th Street. In the weeks since the incident, investigators have been working tirelessly to gather evidence and leads.

Now, a month later, police have shared an image of one suspect believed to be involved in the double homicide. This release is part of an ongoing effort to engage the community in identifying and apprehending those responsible for this crime.
