CINCINNATI – Residents of Cincinnati assert that the widespread attention given to the July 26 downtown incident does not represent their city, although they acknowledge that violent crime is a concern.
“I don’t believe that’s an accurate representation,” Josh Pels, a downtown bartender, commented to Fox News Digital. “I have noticed an increase in crime, especially violent crime, over the past six months. The Over-the-Rhine area typically experiences more issues than our area, but there has been a noticeable rise in violent activity.”
The footage captures a group assaulting two individuals, with one sustaining severe brain trauma. This occurred in the early hours of July 26, at Fourth and Elm Street, by a famous nightclub.
The victim of the Cincinnati incident, identified as Holly, reported suffering brain trauma during the altercation.
Local police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are still sorting out all the actions leading up to the fight.
During a press conference on Friday, Mayor Aftab Pureval stated that all participants in the brawl would face repercussions, pledging “further investigation, additional charges, and more arrests for each person involved.”
