A watch party in Clarendon Hills was canceled Saturday due to severe weather in the Chicago area. The town plans to host a watch party on Sunday when their local team takes the field again to face the West region.

Clarendon Hills also rallied together Wednesday to cheer on their very own for their first game of the Little League World Series tournament on Wednesday. That game ended in a loss for the hometown team, but the tournament is double elimination.

It is a historic appearance in the Little League World Series from the 12U baseball team out of Clarendon Hills. It’s the first appearance ever for the team, and the people of Clarendon Hills are embracing the young ballplayers back home.

The team is representing the Great Lakes Region in Williamsport, Pennsylvania for the Little League World Series.

Sunday’s LLWS game will air on ABC7.
