HOPE TOWN, Bahamas — The disappearance of an American woman in the Bahamas has prompted the U.S. Coast Guard to initiate a criminal investigation, as confirmed by an official to Fox News Digital on Wednesday.

Authorities report that Lynette Hooker, a 55-year-old from Michigan, vanished on Saturday while boating with her husband, Brian Hooker, 58. The couple was enjoying their trip when, according to Brian, Lynette fell into the water and was swept away by the current.

This incident involves a 56-year-old American woman, Lynette Hooker, who reportedly went overboard during a boat excursion in the Bahamas, local officials revealed.
