BOGOTA, Colombia — Miguel Uribe Turbay, a conservative senator and candidate for the presidency in Colombia, passed away on Monday. This sad event occurred over two months after he was shot at a campaign rally in the western part of Bogota.
His wife, María Claudia Tarazona, confirmed the 39-year-old’s death early Monday.

A teenage suspect was arrested at the scene, and authorities have since detained several others.
