Republican Representative Tony Gonzales, who recently progressed to a runoff in the primary election for his Texas district, confessed to having an extramarital affair with a staff member who later died by self-immolation.

In a candid interview on “The Joe Pags Show” on Wednesday, Gonzales admitted, “I made a mistake, and I had a lapse in judgment,” following the previous day’s Republican House primary election.

The congressman elaborated on his actions, saying, “There was a lack of faith, and I take full responsibility for those actions.”
