During a conversation with Univision, the partner of a man detained in Little Village stated that her family was out running errands when their vehicle was suddenly surrounded by federal agents, leading to her partner’s detention. She explained that her partner, much like herself, is in the midst of an asylum application process. On Tuesday, Latino leaders gathered at Daley Plaza to deliver a message to immigrant communities.

Berto Aguayo of the Latino Leadership Council advised, “We urge all undocumented individuals, or those who might feel vulnerable, to remain at home as much as possible and to be informed about their rights.”

Congresswoman Lauren Underwood reported that she received a briefing from ICE officials, who informed her that approximately 250 individuals have been detained since the commencement of Operation Midway Blitz.
