‘Devastated’ Corey Feldman left out of Oscars tribute to Rob Reiner

Corey Feldman is reportedly upset about being excluded from a tribute to Rob Reiner at the upcoming Academy Awards.

As the 98th Oscars approach on March 15, there are rumors of a planned homage to the iconic director. However, one significant actor from his cherished film Stand by Me seems to have been overlooked.

The Daily Mail suggests that Feldman, known for his role as Teddy Duchamp in the 1986 movie, hasn’t been invited to the tribute, unlike some of his former castmates.

Insiders have revealed that actors Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal, who starred in Reiner’s romantic comedy When Harry Met Sally…, are anticipated to participate in the event.

Additionally, Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton, who acted alongside Feldman in Stand by Me, are reportedly on the guest list.

Yet, Feldman appears to have been left out.

“One person currently left off is Corey Feldman, and Corey is devastated that he hasn’t been asked to be part of the tribute,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“He loved Rob and expected to be asked, especially since Jerry and Wil were asked.”

The snub allegedly stings even more because Feldman, O’Connell and Wheaton are set to reunite for a 40th-anniversary tour celebrating Stand by Me, kicking off March 13 in Pittsburgh.

“The night should be about Rob and honoring him,” the insider said. “Corey wants nothing more than to honor Rob, and the fact that he currently isn’t allowed is an absolute slap in the face.”

According to the report, Feldman and his former costars have reached out to the Academy looking for an explanation — but so far have been met with radio silence.

Reiner and his wife were tragically murdered on December 14, when they were found in their California home with fatal stab wounds.

Their 32-year-old son, Nick Reiner, has been charged in connection to their deaths.
