A COUPLE died when their car plunged 1,300ft off a cliff while they were having sex.

Adriana Machado Ribeiro, aged 42, and Marcone da Silva Cardoso, aged 26, traveled to a hang-gliding launch pad following a party in Venda Nova do Imigrante, located in southeastern Brazil.

After dropping home Marcone’s brother and his girlfriend on Sunday night, they decided to spend some more time in each other’s company.

The pair began being intimate – but then their movement caused the car to tip over the edge.

Cops think it fell at around 1am on Monday morning.

After about 100m — before the car hit the ground — the pair were thrown from the vehicle, likely after it struck a rock.

Their car carried on tumbling for another 300 metres before coming to rest, completely smashed up.

The couple were found naked, not far from the mangled wreckage

Police officer Alberto Roque Peres, who is leading the investigation, said there is no evidence of foul play so far.

He told local media: “There were no signs of violence at the scene or on the bodies, and the car’s handbrake was engaged.”

Investigators suspect the couple’s movements inside the parked vehicle caused it to shift and teeter over the cliff edge.

The car was found on private property at around 7am by a caretaker clearing the land.

An officer commented: “Locals mentioned hearing a loud sound between 1:30 am and 2 am. However, due to the darkness and dense vegetation, nobody witnessed anything at that moment.”

Marcone’s body was discovered at the base of the cliff, while firefighters had to navigate steep terrain to recover Adriana’s.

The couple had been together for about six months.

Family and friends describe their relationship as healthy, with no reports of fights or violence.

Neither had a criminal record, according to police.

Marcone was originally from Belo Horizonte and had been living in Venda Nova do Imigrante for a short time, working as a machine operator.

Adriana was a local who had spent 16 years working at her mother’s bakery.

She leaves behind a son and a daughter from a previous relationship.
