SHOPPERS have been issued a warning about two home items sold on Amazon that could be deadly to children.

The risk of serious injury or death is so high that customers have been told to immediately stop using either item.

Both warnings were issued on Friday by Amazon and the US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC).

SAFETY GATES

The first is for a set of safety gates designed to protect children and animals from stairs and other hazards such as doorways.

The CPSC reported that the Dearlomum Retractable Safety Gates “violate the standard for expansion gates and expandable closures”.

This is because it has been found that a child’s torso can fit through the opening between the gate and the floor.

As such it could trap children underneath and cause serious injury and even death.

So far no injuries have been reported but the CPSC says, “Consumers should stop using the recalled gates immediately.”

Around 2,200 units are impacted in the recall and anyone who has the affected product can apply for a full refund by contacting Singbaby.

Products affected by the recall will have the following model number printed on a white label located on the inside of the gate: SH20.006D.

The gates were sold in black, white, and gray between December 2024 and May 2025 for around $35.

Many customers will be receiving a notice from Amazon and Signbaby as they manually reach out to known consumers.

In order to get a refund, purchasers will have to prove that they have destroyed the gates, rendering them unusable.

FABRIC DRESSERS

The second Amazon recall is regarding a set of fabric dressers that many have turned to as the perfect home storage solution.

Around 6,600 of the WLIVE Fabric 15-Draw Dressers were recalled on July 10.

The CSPC reported that the product violates the federal standard under the STURDY Act.

“These items can be very unstable if not secured to a wall, creating significant risks of tipping over and trapping children, which can lead to injury or even death,” stated the commission.

Again, a full refund will be given to affected consumers who prove they have disposed of the item.

“Consumers are advised to discontinue the use of these recalled dressers unless they are anchored to a wall. They should also ensure they are placed in a location that is inaccessible to children,” mentioned the recall notice.

So far no injuries caused by the $110 dressers have been reported.

The affected products were sold on Amazon between April 2024 and May 2025.

Meanwhile, Walmart shoppers have been warned after 850,000 products have been pulled from shelves after two people were left permanently blind.
