Vice President Kamala Harris displayed her distinctive style of speaking on Monday during a White House briefing on the destructive wildfires in Los Angeles. Harris is known for her unique way of expressing herself, often referred to as “word salad.”
Harris, 60, urged Southern California residents displaced by widespread evacuation orders to remain patient as first responders work to ensure neighborhoods are safe to re-enter.Â
However, several X users noted that it took the vice president far more words than necessary to express her point.

âÂÂItâs critically important that, to the extent you can find anything that gives you an ability to be patient in this extremely dangerous and unprecedented crisis, that you do,â Harris said in her wordy message to Californians eager to get back home.Â
One X user described the vice presidentâÂÂs message as âÂÂClassic Kamala.âÂÂÂ
âÂÂâÂÂBe patientâ means the same thing but listen to this word salad instead,â another person tweeted.Â
A different social media user remarked on how they continue to be amazed by âÂÂhow long it takes her to get to the point.âÂÂÂ
âÂÂSo basically, these victims should be unburdened by what has been,â read one X userâÂÂs summary of Harrisâ remarks, which referenced one of the vice presidentâÂÂs most famous word-salad catchphrases.

Several supporters of President-elect Donald Trump chimed in to argue that the country âÂÂdodged a bulletâ on Election Day, and reminded people Harrisâ âÂÂword saladsâ will soon be a thing of the past â at least in the White House.Â
âÂÂYes. Be patient,â one Trump supporter wrote, before adding, âÂÂCompetent leadership will be here in one week.âÂÂ
âÂÂWord salads are off the menu after January 20th,â another X user posted, referring to TrumpâÂÂs inauguration date.Â
