Darius Rucker announces engagement to Emily Deahl

The former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman is engaged, one month after he went Instagram official with his girlfriend.

WASHINGTON — Country star Darius Rucker is now engaged.

The former Hootie and the Blowfish frontman announced his engagement to Emily Deahl on Wednesday, Oct. 8.

“Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known. The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another day without you. Now I don’t have to,” Rucker shared in a Facebook post, which was paired with a photo of him proposing on one knee and a selfie of the couple together.

Deahl is a content creator and musician with almost 500,000 followers on TikTok. The duration of their relationship isn’t clear, but Rucker uploaded a happy selfie of the two in Las Vegas last month, calling her “my love.” Both hail from South Carolina.

As reported by PEOPLE, Rucker, 59, disclosed that he had moved to London earlier this year, while Deahl mentioned in a vlog that she relocated to the city in January 2025. The publication noted that Deahl hinted at a relationship in April via a TikTok video.

Thank you for showing me a level of happiness I have never known. The day I met you I knew I didn’t want to go another one without you. Now I don’t have to.

The “Wagon Wheel” artist was previously married to Beth Leonard, with whom he shares two children: daughter Daniella and son Jack. He also has another daughter, Caroline, from a previous relationship.

Rucker and Leonard announced their separation in 2020 following 20 years of marriage. At that time, Rucker stated that they “remain close friends and parenting partners and continue to support each other immensely.”

On Deahl’s website, her bio says she was “inspired by artists such as Jack White, Lady Gaga, Freddie Mercury and Elvis.”
