The gruesome discovery of a model’s headless remains has emerged, with reports indicating that a deranged individual desecrated her gravesite by removing her head.
Pamela Genini, a 29-year-old model and businesswoman known for her appearances on Italian reality TV, met a tragic end when she was fatally stabbed on her own balcony in Milan last October. Authorities allege that her affluent 52-year-old former boyfriend, who had persistently pursued her for reconciliation, was responsible for her murder.
During the transfer of her body to its final burial site on Monday, cemetery staff noticed something amiss. The coffin failed to close securely, and some screws appeared to be improperly fastened, as reported by the Italian news agency ANSA.
Upon inspection, it was horrifyingly confirmed that the model’s head was gone.
It was evident that the coffin had been tampered with recently, as fresh silicone had been applied to seal it. This revelation comes five months after Genini’s untimely death.
Investigators believe three to four individuals may have been involved in this macabre act, although the basis for this estimation is still unclear.
Authorities did not speculate on a possible motive. It is being investigated as a desecration of a corpse and theft of the head, which carries a sentence of up to seven years in prison, L’Unione Sarda reported.
Genini had been stabbed more than 24 times on her balcony, allegedly by wealthy Italian businessman Gianluca Soncin, 52, who was distraught at them breaking up after dating for a year.
He allegedly got into her apartment with a set of keys he still had, with the model messaging a friend: “I’m scared. This guy’s completely crazy… I don’t know what to do.”
Before police could get there to help, she was heard screaming “help” as she was stabbed.
Soncin tried to take his own life by slashing himself twice in the throat to avoid arrest, according to reports. He remains in custody for stalking and then murdering his ex.
