Department of Defense recruiting civilian volunteers for Trump admin's immigration crackdown operations

The Department of Defense is providing its civilian employees with the chance to volunteer with Homeland Security, working closely alongside ICE and Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents on the forefront of the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement.

A U.S. defense official told Fox News Digital the volunteers will serve in critical support roles for up to 180 days at an ICE or CBP facility.

According to a listing on USA Jobs, an official government site, “Candidates should be dedicated to enhancing the efficiency of the Federal government, passionate about the principles of our American republic, and committed to upholding the rule of law and the United States Constitution.”

As per the listing, travel, lodging, and per diem could be covered by the receiving agency, and the salary ranges from $25,684 to $191,900 annually.

As of Wednesday afternoon, the site was still accepting applications.

The website states that applications will be reviewed and forwarded to DHS as they are received, with the closing date, which was not provided, potentially being extended to fulfill volunteer staffing requirements.

DHS, ICE and CBP did not immediately respond to additional inquiries from Fox News Digital.
