Dubbed “I AM WILD: A Charley Harper Exhibit,” this display brings to life Harper’s distinctive modernist depictions of wildlife and natural settings.
Harper’s artistic legacy is known for capturing the essence of the natural world through a modernist lens, and this exhibit is no exception.
The display integrates his love for nature with a variety of interactive activities designed to engage children of all ages.
Young attendees have the opportunity to assemble their own nature-inspired soundscapes using a musical device featuring various bird calls, enjoy hide-and-seek games, and immerse themselves in multi-sensory renditions of Harper’s iconic images of diverse ecosystems.
Parents said their kids are having a ball.
“Yea, it’s awesome. It’s a really good time,” Arlington Heights resident Kevin Baynes said. “The exhibit is really cool. It’s great because we have a 1-year-old and a 3-year-old, so it’s kind of nice for both.”
“I AM WILD: A Charley Harper Exhibit” is at the Children’s Museum through May 10, so there is plenty of time to stop by with the family to explore.
