Is your home all set for Santa’s arrival?
As the festive season unfolds, families can indulge in a variety of holiday specials, including the charming “Prep & Landing: Snowball Protocol.” This animated feature highlights a top-tier team of elves dedicated to ensuring that homes around the globe are fully prepared for Santa’s big visit.
The character of Wayne is brought to life by the voice of Dave Foley.
Describing Wayne, Foley shared with On The Red Carpet, “He’s someone who tries hard to be more jaded than he actually is. Wayne feels justified in his cynicism but inevitably finds joy in life. It’s amusing how, despite his efforts to remain grumpy, he continually realizes life isn’t so bad after all. I appreciate that about him—he’s humorously inept at maintaining his pessimism.”
Foley has inhabited the role of Wayne since the “Prep & Landing” series debuted in 2009. Joining him once again are Sarah Chalke as Magee, the command center coordinator, and Derek Richardson, who voices Wayne’s trusty partner, Lanny.
This season welcomes new voices to the series: Dulcé Sloan as Janice, a clerk at the North Pole Post Office; Danny Pudi as Chef Geoff, the culinary expert at the Fruitcake Factory; and Manny Jacinto, who plays Renato, a holistic healer helping the elves gear up for their missions.
“Getting to do anything animation or voiceover stuff, especially when Disney is involved is super fun,” Jacinto told On The Red Carpet.
“This one is different from previous ones in that this episode is kind of an anthology episode,” Foley explained. “It takes the characters into different worlds, different seasons and they even get to go on vacation.”
“Prep & Landing: The Snowball Protocol” airs Thanksgiving evening on Disney Channel and the next day on Disney+. It’ll air Sunday on ABC and it’ll be a part of Freeform’s 25 days of Christmas lineup!
The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of this ABC station.
