According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, a man charged with the murder of six individuals in California had previously been deported multiple times.

Norberto Celerino, age 53, is facing six murder charges after a car crash on September 7 in Napa County, California, while allegedly driving under the influence. This marks his fourth DUI charge, as stated by the district attorney.

The district attorney’s office reports that Celerino, also known by the aliases Norberto (Beto) Celerino Villalva, Grabien Martinez, and Roberto Savaringo-Diabla, allegedly drove under the influence of alcohol, leading to a crash that killed six passengers and severely injured another.

An ICE spokesperson told KRON4 that Celerino has been deported several times.

Celerino’s repeated negligence for U.S. laws and California’s sanctuary policies culminated in this tragic event. ICE spokesperson referred to how sanctuary policies compromise public safety by shielding undocumented criminals.

He’s accused of unlawfully re-entering the United States several times, according to ICE.
