You'd Never Guess Which Democrat 'Greatly Appreciates' Trump's Federal Surge in D.C.

The efforts by the Trump administration to address issues in Washington, D.C. appear to be producing results. While the city isn’t flawless, as it likely never will be, conditions have noticeably improved. Many criminals and undocumented individuals now find themselves behind bars, and authorities are seizing a significant amount of illegal firearms and other prohibited items.

It all works.

Law enforcement nabbed more than 80 suspects in the nation’s capital Wednesday night as a part of President Trump’s war on crime — with suspected killers, sex offenders and drug distributors among those in custody, a White House official told The Post.

The latest 81 arrests bring the total to 1,841 apprehensions since Trump ordered federal agents into the district’s streets Aug. 7.

Names of the arrested suspects have not been released due to them being the subject of ongoing federal investigations.

Two of the suspects arrested Wednesday were wanted on murder raps, according to the official, with one accused of shooting and killing a victim during an armed robbery this past July and a second wanted for second-degree murder after allegedly shooting a victim during an argument.

Another apprehended suspect allegedly traveled to DC to engage in sexual activity with a minor and was identified by federal authorities through an online chat.

Two more were arrested on charges of failing to register as sex offenders.

These aren’t people who anyone would want wandering the streets, and yet, they were. The operative term? “Were.”

But wait! There’s more!

Two of the suspects arrested Wednesday were wanted on murder raps, according to the official, with one accused of shooting and killing a victim during an armed robbery this past July and a second wanted for second-degree murder after allegedly shooting a victim during an argument.

Getting goblins of this kind off the streets is always a good idea. And there’s more: There has been a pretty good range of contraband captured, too, from guns to drugs.

It’s no mystery that putting more cops on the street and making them visible will drive down crime rates. Like capitalism and duct tape, it works every time it’s tried. This is what the Trump administration has done, but there’s a cautionary note: The president’s capacity to act has a time limit, unless Congress authorizes a longer deployment of federal law enforcement and the National Guard. There are almost certainly some bad actors with IQs slightly above room temperature who realize that are are keeping a low profile, for now.
