EPSN host Mike Greenburg had a cardiac ablation to correct an irregular heartbeat, says his wife

Mike Greenburg, host of ESPN’s ‘Get Up’ and ‘NBA Countdown’ is recovering at home after having a heart procedure on Monday.

His wife, Stacy, revealed the news and provided an update on his condition on her Twitter account on Thursday.

‘For those asking: Greeny had a cardiac ablation on Monday,’ she said. ‘Recovery is slow, he has to do nothing and believe me….he’s not great at that!

‘We both really, really appreciate all the nice messages.’

It comes a day after she provided another update on her husband, tweeting a picture of Greenburg, 55, sat at home on the sofa with the caption: ‘Recovery, day two. Or, as Greeny calls it, NFL Draft Prep. Send help.’

Greenburg appeared to make it back home the day he had his surgery, as Stacy also tweeted an update on Monday that said: ‘Thank you everyone for checking in. Greeny is home resting & everything went well. 

‘He is already lobbying with the doctor to let him on the air if the Aaron Rodgers trade goes through, so that’s a good sign. 

‘He really appreciates all the nice notes you have been sending.’

A cardiac ablation is a procedure used to correct an irregular rhythm and at present, there is no known timeframe for Greenburg to return to ESPN.

But he’s a well known lifelong Jets fan and if Rodgers makes his move from the Packers to New York, it might just be the tonic he needs on the road to recovery.

And it might just speed up his return to the television screen.

While Greenburg hasn’t posted himself on social media about his health, he paid tribute to Knicks hero Willis Reed on Tuesday after it emerged that he had died.

‘There have been greater players than Willis Reed,’ he wrote. ‘There has never been a greater leader. 

‘Rest in peace, Captain. Fans of the #Knicks will love you until the end of time.’

The 55-year-old Greenburg has no known timeframe for his return to ESPN duties
