On Tuesday, reports surfaced that authorities successfully captured the Michigan woman who recently garnered viral attention after executing an audacious escape by squeezing through a police cruiser window, despite being handcuffed, according to local media sources.
The dramatic escape took place on Saturday in a parking area in Muskegon Heights. While officers were preoccupied with her vehicle, the woman managed to make a swift and unnoticed getaway right under their noses.
Footage recorded by an onlooker shows the woman maneuvering her upper body through a slightly open window of the police car, carefully lowering herself to the ground, and then sprinting away, her wrists still bound.
The Muskegon County Prosecutor’s Office later identified the escapee as Kendra Aney, aged 38. She was reportedly back in police custody by Tuesday morning, according to Fox 2 Detroit.

The Muskegon Heights Police Department (MHPD) noted that Aney was wanted for a parole violation warrant.
She was taken into custody after police, while patrolling the nearby area, spotted a vehicle parked at an abandoned business and confirmed the identity and criminal history of the female passenger using a fingerprint scanner.
She was then taken into custody, handcuffed and secured in the rear seat of the patrol vehicle.

“A short time later, while officers were searching the suspect’s vehicle, the female was able to squeeze through the partially open rear window, exit the patrol vehicle and flee the scene on foot,” MHPD said.
While officers appeared to return to the car quickly, they were unable to locate her.

Roughly four hours later, reports came in from a nearby resident of a home break-in. Authorities said the escapee allegedly broke into that residence about an hour after fleeing the police vehicle.
The MHPD added that officers are pursuing charges of escape, breaking and entering and larceny.
