It seems he’s found himself in a tough situation.
The former convict accused of fatally shooting two individuals near The Players Championship in Florida was captured looking despondent in the back of a police vehicle. The suspect was covered in sand and foliage after being apprehended in a wooded area following an intense manhunt.
Christian Barrios, 32, appeared in a black hoodie, smeared with dirt and foliage, as he hung his head in apparent shame. His hands were cuffed behind his back while an officer held him upright for a photo released by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office on social media platform X.
Barrios, who was out on parole, allegedly shot and killed two people in a Walgreens parking lot in Ponte Vedra. The location is just a mile away from the PGA Tour venue, where the incident set off a dramatic pursuit across the expansive course grounds on Friday night.
According to the sheriff’s office, Barrios subsequently stole a black BMW from a nearby residence and crashed it into the woods. He was discovered and arrested in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Authorities indicated that the tragic shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute and that the victims were acquaintances of the suspect.
The mayhem briefly held up TPC Sawgrass from opening, but the annual tournament kicked off on time.
Barrios was hit with two counts of first-degree murder, burglary of an occupied dwelling, firearm possession by a convicted felon, shooting into a conveyance and grand theft auto.
He is being held without bond.
