Destination D23 is in full effect in Orlando, Florida, and the announcements are rolling in for the future of Disney Entertainment!

Disney unveiled an exciting lineup of upcoming projects spanning Marvel Studios, Pixar, Walt Disney Animation, and Disney+. Fans have a lot to anticipate both in theaters and on digital platforms in the coming years.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe kicked off the surprises with a video message from the Russo Brothers, currently on the set of “Avengers: Doomsday.” Paul Rudd also appeared, reprising his role as Ant-Man.

The duo confirmed that filming is officially underway for what’s expected to be one of Marvel’s biggest blockbusters yet.

“Ice Age: Boiling Point” will bring back Blue Sky’s prehistoric characters, slated to hit theaters on Feb. 5, 2027. This new adventure takes Manny, Sid, Diego, and their friends into the lava-filled, dinosaur-loaded Lost World.

Pixar celebrated the 30th anniversary of “Toy Story,” announcing a special re-release on Sept. 12. This was just part of the exciting news surrounding the beloved franchise.

Fans got their first look at “Toy Story 5,” coming to theaters June 19, 2026.

The upcoming “Toy Story” film will feature the classic toy crew facing off against a new breed of tech toys. Among them is the villain, Lilypad, an iPad housed in a frog-themed casing.

Comedian Conan O’Brien joins the cast as Smarty Pants, a new character. Exclusive footage teased scenes of a group of malfunctioning Buzz Lightyears, leading to pandemonium. Andrew Stanton helms the film, alongside co-director Kenna Harris and producer Jessica Choi.

Pixar also previewed “Hoppers,” a new original comedy coming March 6, 2026, about a college student who uses a robotic beaver to protect her forest from development. Voice talent includes Piper Curda and Bobby Moynihan.

Looking ahead, Pixar confirmed “The Incredibles 3” is officially in development and part of its 2028 and beyond lineup.

“Zootopia 2,” in theaters Nov. 26, 2025, revealed new cast additions including Patrick Warburton as Mayor Winddancer and Yvette Nicole Brown as both EMT Otter and Baroness Bear.

The sequel follows Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they go undercover to solve a mystery threatening the city. New characters include voices by Ke Huy Quan, Quinta Brunson, Fortune Feimster and the return of Shakira as Gazelle.

Patrick Warburton told On The Red Carpet, “Mayor Winddancer is even more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.”

“I got two great cameos and Jared Bush was kind enough to give me that opportunity, so all of that was just amazing,” said Brown.

Walt Disney Animation introduced “Hexed,” a new original feature debuting in November 2026.

It follows a teenage boy and his perfectionist mom who discover his odd behavior is actually magical. Their journey leads them to a hidden realm where magic runs wild.

“TRON: Ares,” arriving Oct. 10, 2025, will feature a score by Nine Inch Nails, which will temporarily take over the TRON Lightcycle Run rides in Florida and Shanghai starting Sept. 15.

As part of the celebration, the original “TRON” films will be released in 4K Ultra HD on Sept. 16. The new movie stars Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters and Jeff Bridges.

On Disney+, “Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw” premieres Dec. 5.

Based on the third book in Jeff Kinney’s series, the animated film follows Greg Heffley as he clashes with his dad’s expectations and faces a personal ultimatum. The cast includes Aaron D. Harris as Greg and Chris Diamantopoulos as Frank Heffley.

Phineas and Ferb had some time to shine as well with show’s creators Dan Povenmire and Dan “Swampy” Marsh attending.

“We like being out with the fans at these kinds of events and it’s time that we get to sort of feel the relationship that we have for the fans,” said Povenmire.

Be sure to follow On The Red Carpet on social media all weekend long for the latest announcements and magical moments from Destination D23.

The Walt Disney Company is the parent company of Marvel Studios, Pixar and this ABC station.
