Two NYPD sources indicate that this police activity is linked to an investigation concerning two devices thrown during opposing protests outside Gracie Mansion.
This situation arises just hours after New York City officials confirmed that a device thrown during protests on Saturday near Gracie Mansion was an improvised explosive device (IED), with the potential to cause “serious injury or death.”
