NY pipe bomb suspect Raymond Elders tosses explosives outside house in new video

A shocking video captures the moment an alleged explosive enthusiast, identified as Raymond Elders, 65, ignited and threw a device toward a neighbor’s residence. This incident occurred only days before authorities discovered numerous pipe bombs hidden in his apartment located in suburban New York.

Authorities reported that Elders was taken into custody on Monday in White Plains. At the time of his arrest, Elders bore black and blue residue on his hands and held a lighter, following weeks of allegedly unsettling his neighbors with his explosive antics.

One particularly audacious incident reportedly caught on a doorbell camera shows Elders hurling what appeared to be an explosive toward a house in broad daylight on May 18, according to CBS News. The footage reveals a loud explosion erupting as Elders hurriedly retreats, attempting to conceal his identity with his hooded sweatshirt.

His arrest followed multiple complaints from residents of the serene, tree-lined neighborhood who had reported a succession of deafening sounds, originally suspected to be transformer explosions.

Police involvement escalated after the latest intense blast rocked the area around 4:30 a.m. Investigators focused on Elders after they purportedly discovered a suspicious explosive device near his entrance.

Police were called to the area after the latest powerful boom shook the neighborhood at about 4:30 a.m.
Cops zeroed in on Elders after allegedly spotting a mysterious explosive device near his doorway.

At least 25 complete pipe bombs and explosive-making materials were found stashed inside his apartment, authorities allege.

Authorities haven’t released a motive — but it is believed to be tied to a neighbor dispute, WABC reported.

Elders was hit with a slew of charges, including use of a weapon of mass destruction.
