A MAN was removed from a soccer game due to wearing a Make America Great Again hat, even though the security personnel involved claimed he was a Donald Trump supporter and was merely following protocol.
A bright red hat with white letters, a MAGA cap has become recognizable across the nation.
So much so that the hat may be one of the most famous political merchandise items of all time.
But when a fan wore his to a St. Louis soccer game, he was kicked from the stadium.
Michael Weitzel, a fan at the stadium, filmed officials attempting to escort him out of the stands.
“I’m being asked to leave by the police because its Donald Trump,” he said, pointing at his hat.
“Are these rules equally enforced on everybody?”
In the footage, the security guard is seen telling him he’s a Trump fan too, but they cannot allow political statements.
The two men then tell him that they are kicking him from the stadium.
“I’m being evicted from the premises because of Donald Trump, because we can’t wear Donald Trump hats in public.”
The St. Louis SC website, representing the Missouri stadium, clearly states that “signs, symbols or images” supporting or opposing any political party or candidate are not permitted.
It also says that it serves to right to eject people who disturb the game and break rules.
The man told KFTK that he had only around 25 minutes of the game left when he was ejected.
“They told me I could either hide the hat or take it out to my car or leave. I’m not gonna take my hat off for anybody,” he told the station.
“I live in America, which is the land of the free and the home of the brave.”
This incident comes in the wake of Sydney Sweeney, a renowned actor primarily recognized for her role in the teen series Euphoria, facing significant online scrutiny after it surfaced that she is a registered Republican this week.
Donald Trump’s post on Sydney Sweeney
The president posted to Truth Social on Aug. 4, 2025:
“Sydney Sweeney, identified as a registered Republican, stars in a “HOTTEST” ad campaign for American Eagle, with their jeans reportedly “flying off the shelves.” Kudos to Sydney! Conversely, Jaguar released an ill-conceived, overly ‘WOKE’ advertisement resulting in chaos, leading to the CEO’s disgraced resignation. The brand is now in significant disarray. Post-ad, sales are likely to suffer similar to Bud Light’s failed woke campaign, which disastrously affected the company’s market cap. Additionally, the once-popular singer Taylor Swift faced backlash after my TRUTH post, declaring my dislike for her. She was booed at the Super Bowl, losing her appeal. The trend has shifted — Being WOKE equates to losing, whereas being Republican is ideal. Thank you for considering this issue!”
Her voting registration information came to light after she starred in an American Eagle ad with the tagline “good jeans,” sparking outrage among those who deemed it offensive.
The punchline is she has good “genes,” while showing her blonde hair and blue eyes.
Following the ad’s release, it was reported that she registered as a Republican in Florida in June 2024, prior to the presidential election.
President Trump praised the project and called it the “HOTTEST” ad.
“The tide has seriously turned,” he posted to Truth Social on Monday.
“Being WOKE is for losers, being Republican is what you want to be.”
Online, the internet was split on its reaction to the public kicking of the soccer fan.
“What happened to freedom of speech? I get it as long as you agree with what people think,” one X user wrote.
“This kind of stuff must stop,” another commented.
“They will need to arrest me.”
Under his original post, many were siding with the stadium.
“Your hat very clearly breaks the MLS Fan Code of Conduct,” one person said to the post.
“Stop whining.”
