FBI nabs 2 men for allegedly placing incendiary device under FOX affiliate news vehicle

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) apprehended two individuals in Utah following the discovery of a bomb beneath a FOX 13 News vehicle in Salt Lake City, as stated in official reports.

The accused, Adeeb Nasir, 58, and Adil Justice Ahmed Nasir, 31, are charged with several offenses, including Threat of Terrorism, Possession of Weapons of Mass Destruction, and Possession of Explosive Devices.

The device was found on Friday, Sept. 12 and determined to be real, FOX 13 reported. Officials said the device had been lit but “failed to function.”

The Salt Lake City Police Bomb Squad, along with the Unified Fire Authority Arson/Bomb Squad, found the explosive device beneath a FOX 13 News vehicle, which was parked adjacent to an occupied building.

Federal agents served a search warrant on the property, with the Salt Lake City bomb squad ensuring the home was safe to enter.

Inside, authorities discovered two fake weapons of mass destruction, two guns, bomb-making materials, and illegal drugs. Authorities evacuated homes in the surrounding area as they conducted their search.

Officials reported that besides the explosive components, they uncovered “firearms and related items, illegal narcotics, and electronic devices likely containing evidence of crimes.”

Authorities said that the suspects’ actions posed a “significant risk of mass casualties.”

Adeeb Nasir and Adil Justice Ahemd Nasir are being held in Salt Lake County Jail.

“FOX 13 News is cooperating closely with law enforcement and our risk management team, prioritizing the safety of our staff,” stated FOX 13 Station Manager Leona Wood.

Fox News Digital reached out to the FBI and Salt Lake City Jail for comment.
