In a tense situation at The Villages in Florida, FBI agents were called in after the discovery of stolen military explosives. This alarming find led to the immediate evacuation of local residents, though fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.

The incident unfolded when the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office received a call around 11:07 a.m. on Tuesday, alerting them to the presence of what appeared to be military-grade explosive devices at a residential property. In response, deputies swiftly evacuated the vicinity to safeguard the community.

To handle the potential threat, the sheriff’s office enlisted the expertise of Lake County’s bomb squad. After careful assessment, it was confirmed that these explosives had been illicitly taken from military stockpiles. The area was subsequently cleared of any hazardous materials, ensuring it was safe for residents to return.

With the immediate danger resolved, the case has now been handed over to the FBI for further investigation, as they delve into the origins and intent behind the theft of these dangerous items.
